02 / Engagement Terms

The terms every engagement runs on.

These apply to project work, retainers and subscriptions alike, and are restated in the engagement letter.

Proposals: Written proposals are prepared at no charge and carry a fixed fee, a fixed scope, and a delivery date. Nothing is billed before you accept.
Payment terms: A deposit is required to commence work, with the balance due upon delivery. Subscriptions and retainers are billed monthly in advance, or annually.
Engagement letter: A signed engagement letter is required for all projects before work begins.
Revisions: Each engagement includes one full round of revisions. Additional rounds are quoted at the applicable rate.
Rush work: Projects required in less than half the standard turnaround are subject to a rush surcharge. Rush availability depends on current workload and is confirmed before engagement.
Cancellation: Deposits are non-refundable once work has commenced. Projects cancelled mid-engagement are billed pro-rata for work completed.
Retainer notice: Thirty days’ written notice is required to cancel or modify any retainer arrangement.
Confidentiality: All client information is held in strict confidence. A mutual NDA is available upon request.
Currency: All fees are quoted and payable in U.S. dollars. Wire transfer, ACH, and check accepted.

Daniel founded Dominion Strategic Holdings to bring institutional-standard financial analysis to the clients who fall between the cracks — served by neither the large banks, who will not take the engagement, nor the local bookkeeper, who is not equipped for it. Operating companies, funds and individuals who need the work done properly and want to keep the work product.

His background is in accounting, across international banking, one of the largest financial institutions in the United States, and private consultancy. That sequence shapes how the firm works: every engagement starts from the financial statements, every figure is traceable to a source document, and every conclusion can be walked back to the assumption that produced it.

A bank is an unforgiving place to learn accounting: every figure has to reconcile, every entry has to be supported by a document, and the reporting calendar does not move for anyone. That standard — that a number is only as good as the record behind it — is the foundation the firm’s work still rests on.
02 JPMorgan Chase Accounting A move to one of the largest financial institutions in the world, and to the scale, controls and documentation discipline that operating at that size demands. Seeing how a global bank governs, reviews and evidences its own numbers is what informs how this firm structures its models and documents its assumptions — so the work survives review by someone who did not build it.
